RACE NUMBERS AND BELTS

There is one races number. It must shown forward on the run and backward on the bike. Race belts are COMPULSORY.

TEAM RACE NUMBERS AND RACE BELTS

Teams, even you must use a race belt. No-one exits transition without their or their teams race number on.

PARKING

We are parking all cars on the reserve to the left as you arrive to site. We will close this gate until all cyclists have left transition. Once cyclists return, this gate will remain shut again until all cyclists are back into transition. Please be aware that you cannot park anywhere on the grass verges around the Blue Lake. You also cannot park in front of the camping ground. Any cars parked in these areas will be towed away.

Note, there is no parking directly in front of the camping ground on either side of the road. Also, as you come down the hill towards the lake, there may be vehicle queues in front of you so please slowdown as you start your approach to the lake.

RACE MORNING

Once you have parked your vehicle, head to transition. Racking is first up best dressed.

BRIEFING

Early Swim. Briefing is 0645 at waters edge.

Briefing is at 0615 at the waters edge. The race morning briefing will NOT cover off the course, it will however cover off the swim course along with any other race day changes. For that reason alone, to make sure that you are aware of any changes, it is always critical to attend the race morning briefing.

TIMING CHIPS

In your race bag, thread the blue strap like a watch through the chip. If you forget your chip on race morning – go to the timing EZI UP next to the finish line and say the following: “I’m a Muppet and I forgot my chip, can I have another one please.”

CLEARING TRANSITION

Family and friends are welcome in our transition before 6:15am. Transition will be cleared of all competitors and supporters including teams from 6:15 a.m. so please make sure you have everything ready by that time.

TEAMS CHANGEOVER

Teams change at their bikes. All cyclists must wait RACKED at their bikes for their swimmer. Tip. Have the cyclist wearing the race belt and number. All Runners must wait in the transition for their cyclist. The timing chip is your ankle bracelet. Teams will get a Velcro band for their timing tag.

RACE START TIMES FOR ALL EVENTS

  • All Men 0625
  • All Women and Teams 0630

If your team swimmer is slooow as; please email us for a cunning plan.

If you are late for your wave start then it sucks to be you. Get in the water and get swimming.

  • TIMING TAGs

Your timing tag is an expensive electronic device which is loaned to you for the duration of the event by Timing Sports. It is extremely important that you return your tag after you finish, using the tag return bins provided. If, for whatever reason, you do not take part in the event, you must still return your timing tag. Timing Sports track the status of all tags and a fine may be levied if you do not return yours – this is something you agreed to as part of the event waiver when you registered for the event.

Your tag can be returned in a standard envelope. You do not need to send your race number with it or any other information. Timing Sports will scan the tag and record its safe return. The address is:

Timing Sports – Tag Return,
PO Box 30-1431,
